Most responsible citizens got the memo several months ago that, until the COVID-19 pandemic is over, face masks are a part of daily life.
It was a little weird at first but people have adapted well, doing their small part to keep themselves and others safe and help quell the global plague that we’re all dealing with.
Naturally, people got bored with humdrum old surgical masks pretty quickly and began designing and accessorizing their own masks. Similarly, companies and independent vendors have also stepped in to offer custom face masks with a wide variety of designs and patterns.
You can get an image of your own face printed on your mask so people can see that lovely mug of yours, but that’s where things quickly go wrong.
The thing about online shopping is that expectations often don’t align with reality. And when your expectation is to receive a mask with a realistic human face on it (because you’re quirky like that) you will often be met with some form of distorted body horror.
Here are some people who thought they were ordering one mask and wound up with something…slightly different.
